Overview: The ADB-Japan Scholarship Program (JSP) offers approximately 135 scholarships annually to students from Asian Development Bank (ADB) borrowing member countries. These scholarships support graduate studies in fields such as Economics, Business and Management, Science and Technology, Law and Public Policy, and Development studies. Asian Development Bank
Eligibility Criteria:
- Citizenship: Applicants must be nationals of an ADB borrowing member country and not hold dual citizenship with any developed country. Masters Portal
- Age: Applicants should be under 35 years old at the time of application. In exceptional cases, this age limit may be waived with the expressed endorsement of the Government of Japan.
- Academic Qualifications: Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with a superior academic record.
- Professional Experience: At least two years of full-time professional work experience acquired after obtaining a university degree.
- English Proficiency: Proficiency in oral and written English communication skills is required.
- Health: Applicants must be in good health.
- Return Commitment: Applicants must agree to return and work in their home country for at least two years after completing their studies under the program.
Application Process:
- Admission to a Designated Institution: Applicants must gain admission to an approved master’s course at a participating academic institution. Masters Portal
- Application Submission: Submit the completed application form, along with all required documents, to the chosen institution at least six months before the intended start date of the program. Asian Development Bank
- Institutional Endorsement: Only candidates who have been offered admission and endorsed by the participating academic institutions will be considered for the scholarships by ADB.
