Mayeen Uddin Khandaker, Ph.D. (Korea), MSc (CU, 1st class 1st), BSc (CU, 1st class 1st ) is a professor of Applied Physics and Radiation Technologies at Sunway University, Malaysia.
He has worked for and with a number of institutions, including the University of Malaya (Malaysia), the International Atomic Energy Agency (Austria), American International University-Bangladesh, and Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (Korea). He holds a visiting scientist position at the Physical and Chemical Sciences (RIKEN, Japan) and the National Institute of Radiological Sciences (Japan) since 2012.
He has published more than 450 research papers (WoS/Scopus-indexed) with a total citation of 6000. Professor Mayeen is an Associate Editor for the journal of Radiation Physics and Chemistry (Elsevier) and Handling Editor of Physics Open (Elsevier).
He has also evaluated research projects for several organizations including the Australian Research Council (Australia) and provides service as an external and internal examiner of a good number of postgraduate students from home and abroad.
Professor Mayeen supervised more than a dozen PhDs and served as one of the Chief Scientific Investigators for a CRP on theranostic radionuclide production assigned by the IAEA. His service to the scientific community has been recognized and acknowledged, for instance, by Elsevier as one of its most valuable reviewers for the years 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2021.
