In 2024, Bangladeshi researchers contributed in 10,000 articles in journals, books and conference procedings indexed in the Web of Science. Out of those 10 thousands, only 92 are highly cited. On the other hand, Indian researchers contributed in 881 ( out of 191,602) , pakistani researchers in 454 (out of 33982), Nepali researchers in 179out of 3298) and Srilankan researchers in 20 92644) highly cited articles.
How should we see our contribution in comparision to other south asian countries. How should we make comparative evaluation of our top public and private universities? How should we feel about the funding in such articles? How Should the universities acknowldge and appreciate the researchers who have contributed in such highly cited artciles?
