Applications are invited for a PhD position in 4D Genome and Gene Regulation to be carried out in the Junior Research Group Mechanisms of Genome Control led by Dr. Angelika Feldmann. Research will focus on enhancer-dependent gene regulation and the role of promoter contacts, using advanced (epi-)genomic, genome engineering, and computational techniques. Nature Careers

A Master’s degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, or a related field is required. Practical experience in molecular biology techniques, cell culture (with embryonic stem cell experience as a bonus), and a theoretical understanding of gene regulation/epigenetics are expected. Skills in bioinformatic analyses (e.g., R or similar), independent and collaborative work, and effective communication are desirable.

Duties will include planning and executing experiments, performing genomic and data analyses, presenting results at meetings and conferences, and documenting findings in publications and a PhD thesis.
