The Department of Molecular Medicine at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) invites applications for a fully funded PhD position focused on biomarker discovery and therapeutic target investigations in biliary atresia (BA) — a rare but severe pediatric liver disease and the leading cause of liver transplantation in children. This translational research project integrates clinical patient data, biomarker assay development, and experimental animal modeling to better understand fibrosis mechanisms and improve risk stratification and treatment strategies. The project is conducted in collaboration with Copenhagen University Hospital/University, offering research activities in both Odense and Copenhagen. Nature Careers
