The Health Data Science Centre (HDSC) specializes in generating and using large-scale “big data” to enhance the understanding of non-communicable diseases, including genetic and molecular data across diverse populations.
The Di Angelantonio-Ieva group and the Zuccolo group are seeking to recruit two highly motivated Postdocs in Genetic Epidemiology/Statistical Genetics. The roles involve leading projects to explore the genetic basis of molecular traits and their interaction with the environment, analyzing complex genetic and molecular data, and collaborating with both internal and international research teams. Responsibilities include publishing research, preparing grant applications, contributing to training programs, and fostering new research consortia.
Essential Requirements:
- PhD in relevant fields (genetic epidemiology, molecular epidemiology, statistical genetics, etc.) or to be completed within six months.
- Proficiency in statistical methods for analyzing molecular data and large datasets using programming languages like Python and R.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with a track record of publications.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with gene expression QTL or protein QTL studies.
- Strong report writing and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
