The Foulds laboratory is a dedicated translational oncology research program, rich with individual expertise and collaborative studies, which focuses on generating new and optimizing current treatment strategies for patients across the breast cancer spectrum. In order to develop precision diagnostics, the Foulds lab is interested in delineating mechanisms of resistance to standard-of-care therapeutics and metastasis for each breast tumor subtype. The successful candidate is expected to develop and carry out independent research projects, supervise technicians, and work in collaboration with the bioinformatics and functional genomics team in the lab.

Job Duties

Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments.

Collects, compiles and analyzes data.

Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for a particular study.

Documents results of experiments.

Selects, evaluates and applies techniques used in routine research.

Prepares project reports, scientific manuscripts, grant proposals, and abstracts, and presents the research work in conferences or scientific meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.

No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with in vivo tumor models and/or bioinformatics is preferred.

The applicant should have a strong record of achievements and publications, encompass the ability to work independently and in a collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment, and demonstrate excellent scientific communication and writing skills.

Prior experiences in tissue culture and basic molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, DNA purification, Western blot) are required.

The ideal candidate must hold a PhD or MD/PhD degree with expertise in molecular and cellular biology.

Must be a teamplayer and work well within a group.

Cross-training and transparency among the team is encouraged and practiced.
