The BioInnovation Institute (BII), in partnership with Science Translational Medicine, invites applications for the prestigious Prize for Innovations in Women’s Health. This international award recognizes outstanding research that advances creative, translational solutions to challenges in women’s health. Science Prize
Call for Entries – Deadline: 1 November 2025.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Open to researchers of any career stage with a Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D..
- Applicants must have made significant research advances toward solving key issues in women’s health.
- Submissions must be individual efforts, with essays focusing on the entrant’s own contributions.
- Previous Science Prize winners are not eligible for five years post-award.
- Essays or research previously submitted to another Science Prize cannot be resubmitted.
Grand Prize:
- USD 25,000 cash prize.
- 5-year digital subscription to Science Translational Medicine.
- Winning essay published online in Science Translational Medicine.
- Travel and accommodation (if applicable) for the awards ceremony.
- Potential opportunity to engage with the BioInnovation Institute’s business development team and submit a proposal to BII programs.
Submission Requirements:
- Completed Entry Form.
- 1,000-word essay in MS Word (.doc/.docx), describing translational advances in women’s health. One figure/table and up to 15 references allowed.
- Letter of recommendation from a postdoctoral adviser, supervisor, or senior colleague.
- Curriculum Vitae including:
- Full citations of related publications.
- Awards and honors.
- Relevant experience.
- Two research papers most relevant to the essay.
- All materials must be submitted electronically via the online portal.

- August–November 2025: Review of submissions
- December 2025–February 2026: Final selection
- April 2026: Public announcement of the winner

Judging Criteria:
Essays will be reviewed for:
- Scientific quality and rigor
- Clarity and writing style
- Translational potential and impact on women’s health
Final judging is conducted by a committee appointed by the Science Translational Medicine Editor.
