Nature Conferences 2026 at KAUST (Saudi Arabia): Corals, Coasts, and One Health.
Advancing Global Research and Resilience for Coral Reef and Coastal Ecosystems — Abstract Submission Open Until December 1, 2025.

An international in-person conference titled “Corals, Coasts, and One Health” is being organized by Nature Conferences in collaboration with the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia. Scheduled for February 14–16, 2026, this global scientific event will bring together researchers, policymakers, and conservationists to address the urgent challenges facing coral reefs and interconnected coastal ecosystems. Abstract submissions are currently being accepted until December 1, 2025. Nature Conferences

Researchers, academics, and professionals from relevant fields are invited to participate in this prestigious event to share their research, exchange insights, and explore innovative approaches to safeguarding marine biodiversity. The conference will provide an interdisciplinary platform linking coral reef science, ecosystem management, and the One Health perspective, emphasizing the connections between environmental and human well-being.

The meeting will be held at KAUST, Saudi Arabia, under the banner of Nature Conferences, part of the Springer Nature Group. It will feature expert-led discussions, poster sessions, and selected short talks focused on emerging scientific and policy solutions for coral and coastal resilience.

Conference Themes:

Research abstracts are being accepted on the following and related topics:

  • Recent progress in understanding the coral holobiont and key drivers of reef decline.

  • Interconnections between coral reefs, coastal systems, and ecosystem services.

  • Innovations in monitoring and projecting ecosystem responses to global environmental change.

  • Restoration and conservation strategies promoting coral reef resilience.

  • New perspectives on marine governance, policy, and conservation frameworks.

  • A One Health approach linking coral ecosystem health, human well-being, and planetary change.

Abstract Submission Details:
  • Submission Deadline: December 1, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. EST

  • Abstracts are to be submitted through the official portal.

  • All submissions will be reviewed by a Scientific Committee composed of Nature editors and invited experts.

  • Accepted authors will be invited to present an e-poster, while a select few will be chosen to deliver a Short Talk, based on thematic alignment with the main program.

  • Notification of acceptance will be sent within three weeks following the submission deadline.

Note:

  • Abstract submission is not required to attend the conference.

  • If a visa invitation letter is needed, the Conference Manager should be contacted as early as possible.

  • Upon abstract acceptance, event registration will be required to confirm participation.

How to Submit an Abstract:
  1. Click on Submit Abstract.

  2. Create an account on the submission portal.

  3. Download and follow the sample abstract template and preparation guidelines.

  4. Complete all required steps and upload the final file.

  5. Check your email inbox (and spam folder) for confirmation from natureconferences@nature.com and mark it as “safe” to receive further communication.

Special Support for Authors:

To assist researchers in preparing high-quality submissions, Nature Conferences has partnered with American Journal Experts (AJE) to provide editing and design support for abstracts and posters, with a 10% discount available to participants.

About the Event:

The Corals, Coasts, and One Health Conference is focused on tackling the urgent challenges facing coral reefs and adjacent coastal ecosystems. A One Health perspective will be emphasized—integrating microbial ecology, ecosystem dynamics, and societal dimensions to better understand and sustain coral reef and coastal ecosystem health under global change.

Participants will be engaged in discussions on scientific innovation, policy integration, and conservation solutions, contributing to the collective effort to secure the future of coral reefs worldwide.

Researchers across disciplines are warmly invited to submit their abstracts before December 1, 2025, and to join this important global forum at KAUST, Saudi Arabia.
