Program Overview
The Hakubi Project, established in 2009, aims to develop world-class researchers by providing academic freedom, institutional support, and a collaborative research environment. Selected candidates will be appointed as program-specific faculty members and conduct independent research in their chosen fields.
Position Details
- Positions: Program-Specific Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Junior Associate Professor
- Number of Positions: Approximately 20 (15 Assistant Professors, 5 Associate/Junior Associate Professors)
- Duration: 5 years (non-renewable)
- Start Date: April 1, 2027
- Location: Host department at Kyoto University
- Research Budget: Up to 4 million yen per year
Eligibility Criteria
- PhD degree or equivalent research capability
- Open to all nationalities
- Candidates must demonstrate strong research potential and leadership qualities
Fields of Research
- Open to all disciplines: Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences (basic to applied)
